Read earlier that young Jamaican sprinter Brianna Williams (17yo) from Bolton’s group has tested positive for a banned substance.

It says a substance in a cold medicine that wasn’t in the list. I hope it can be explained she’s a real talent.

I read that the banned substance was a diuretic (used as a masking substance) and they're trying to pin it on a contaminant in an over-the-counter cold medicine.

This is a child (17yo) as I understand it. If she has been doping and masking it, there's an adult or two around her that have been abusing her through doping.

Apparently she did disclose the cold remedy at a recent meeting so her story *might* have done truth to it.

Unlisted ephedrine in a cold remedy is plausible, to the extent that taking over the counter cold remedies is a culpably stupid thing for an athlete subject to drug testing to do. A thiazide diuretic, not so plausible.

That doesnt make sense. They have backdated the first offence to a date before it happened in order that only 2 happened in a 12 month period. I dont see any rationale for that backdating.

And presumably he is still on 2 and only one away from a ban.

To me it just seems like he's got off on a technicality, he still had the three failed tests.
