Thanks all. Thankfully she is settled in her bed at the moment and more antibiotics have been started.

🤞 she has a settled night

Just caught up, that sounds worrying MM, fingers crossed she improves in hospital. Good thing she managed to get the mobile to work when she really needed it!

Mum has spent the day in bed in the care home (Best thing for her legs to be up) has eaten some food and is comfortable.

Hoping the blood thinners will be starting to leave her system now and we will need to see if the legs heal up 🤞

Your poor mum, such a rollercoaster. I hope things get better for her (and you).

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
