Getting quite excited about his now... despite some pretty woeful training thanks to some injuries and a fairly persistent chest infection.
New shoes and watching everyone in London yesterday has given me some extra motivation though, I may not be as quick as I'd hoped, but i'll get round and hopefully with a smile on my face!

A disappointing 'no chance' from Edinburgh Marathon organisers for a last minute place. Even though I emailed on the day gfa entries closed it was too late. Fair enough I suppose. They have to cut it off at some point. Got a place for the Half so will just focus on that instead
Watching London definitely gives you the buzz to get out and run. Too busy for me probably but a great event nonetheless

Welcome to Fetch, LisaLamb and LittlePirate. Remember your suncream. No, really, however unlikely that may sound. If you can have someone at the end with some suncream, even better. I suspect the real damage is done in the post race lounging and I have seen some stoaters of post race Belisha beacons.
As for wind - I'd be hoping for a (mild) Easterly, then it is behind you on the run in. Unfortunately, the prevailing wind is Westerly. The year I went to Fetchpoint, it was absolutely brutal by the time I left - difficult to even walk in. That was exceptional, though.

Heed Dvorak's advice on the sunscreen...it's usually feckin scorchio that day and I remember being burnt red raw. (Maybe a wee exaggeration but trust me on the sunscreen). 😃

That was a grind, while my 20 canal miles were flat, the ground was uneven which I'm not used to.
Is it too early to ask if anyone's going for 4hrs and wants to get a group going?
