I was a bit disapointed to get my email with the *special* announcement telling is that the half will run alongside the full race next yr for various reasons 1.I like doing the half, means i'll miss it by it being on same day! 2. This yr was busiest Edinburgh has been and very congested in parts, doing this can only make this much worse 3. They need to sort out the various issues raised before adding even more people to the race first. I love this race, it's my hometown Marathon and heartily recommend it to everyone, i'm just bit gutted about latest developments. |

So the Sir Chris Hoy (my mate) Edinburgh half that is organised by the same lot who organise Dunfermline is off? Instead Edinburgh Marathon Ltd are running there own? That's not what I read from it. * goes off to google stuff * |

I totally agree! I just got my email too. It'll make the start (and toilets!) even busier and means people can't run both races. Plus if you are doing the half you'll be proportionally much faster than the marathoners so will they take that into account in the pens? I think this is a bad idea from a logistics point of view. Personally I will still be running it, but the Marathon, not the half. |

Ah, it was just that SB said she will miss doing the half, so I thought she meant the other Edinburgh half was not on, or something like that. Well done last night BTW, crackin run

Reading my email, that's what I make of it, claire - it's the 'Scottish Half Marathon'. I think the Chris Hoy Half is unrelated to this, fear not santa and co But goodness me, this sounds like a bad idea... |

well even if it's not the same race, its still a bloody bad idea. it was seriously congested in parts this year. they need to sort out the issues they had this yr and rethink route a bit if this is going to happen Claire, you need to get a fetch top, sorry for not saying hi last night. Well done on brill race
