Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I know that it's naughty to run with earphones, and even more naughty to ride a bike with earphones, but if *a friend* wanted to buy a set of earphones to listen to "Marathon Talk" while out, say, walking to the shops, which ones would you recommend?

The ones he currently has has a cable that is slightly too short and the earbuds keep falling out.

My friend doesn't have a huge budget to work with.

Well I use them on training runs all the time, I use a pair of JVC that hook behind the ear individually, they were about a tenner at Tesco and have lasted well. There are many similar alternatives that would be fine. A more elite version would be the Sennheisers that have a band that sits behind the neck, they are a good fit but get destroyed by sweat much quicker (and they're over 30 quid) so for running I'd buy a cheaper version.

The quality is dependent on the device you are using and o be honest none of them really justifies Sennheisers.

I have used these for the past year: amazon.co.uk

And they have been great. And I notice they have halved in price so I may pick up another pair.

I have seinnheiser (however you spell it) sports which wrap around behind your head, they are pretty comfy to wear although a bit big for my girlie head.

Maybe these? amazon.co.uk

I'm sure they are good if so, but I'm sticking with my £5 pair :-)
