The Tinselator
Our old friend Stella ran this last year but unfortunately he has siled from these shores so I thought I would take it up. Am starting now to help psyche us all u and in my case so I can devise a plan on how to drink all my alcohol stocks before I go to bed after the New Year celebrations. Maybe others of you are better knowing it is there and ignoring it but for me is best if temptation is out of reach entirely. So a simple premise, no alcohol for the whole of January. Was first time I ever contemplated this last January and led to my soberest year since I was a teenager, indeed I had a ten week run there or thereabouts between September and November without touching a drop. Will start a group now, feel free to join and we can all motivate each other..... |

I did 2009 hours in 2009 which took me up to sometime in March. Lost half a stone and felt a bloody lot better for it. However, with the missus a designated driver for a period of 9 months ending in June/July it'd be a shame to waste it. Maybe just January will suit... |

Add yourself to the group then TD. Best of luck for June/July too, hope Tynan is as excited about a little brother or sister as he is about Santa's arrival Must say I do like the 2011 in 2011 idea but think my charity evening in February will get in the way. Hmm.... |

I'm planning on a 106days and 14hrs. That takes me to 2pm on the 17th April. So that's 2,560 hrs by my reckoning. I'll join for January to get me off to a good start. So no or till after I finish VLM and then I hope to be celebrating a pb and hopefully GFA. |

Best of luck Sioux, I fancy that too but as I said is the charity evening that is making me think I wont manage the full stretch. Will definitely join you for a beer post VLM though...
