If money and time were no option where would you go. Lots of places put on a good show, Sydney comes to mind. But is bigger better. Bet New York is good place I bet Frank Sinatra sang a song about it, in fact he named it twice

So I like to do that bring in the new year twice. On the internet it might suggest go to Sydney then fly to Los Angeles (they are miles away) Where's the fun in that?

So where's the first place that celebrates where's the last. Samoa and American Samoa

That's what I would like to do

Celebrate in Samoa then hop over to American Samoa which is amongst the last to celebrate

Approximately 102 miles apart

Your Samoan idea is brilliant.

I did once fly from London to Sydney (with a refuelling stop in Bangkok) on New Year’s Eve. During the flight we celebrated the new year three times, once for Sydney time (it was a Quantas flight with an Australian crew), again at Bangkok time, then finally at London time.

That does sound like a way to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I will be watching fireworks from my hotel balcony on Tenerife. I think it’ll be quite nice.

In the past, I've spent new year in Bangkok, Singapore and also Hong Kong,

Even more years ago we'd go into London and wait for the bells with a bottle of champagne on Westminster bridge.

These days I'm really struggling to stay awake long enough, but to see the new year in from a tropical beach, or the top of a mountain would be nice
