Supposed to be a nice race - is v popular... Don't know about PBs. I would guess there's a fair few gates/styles to get through. And if you have to cross the railway bridge in Bourne End...

PB potential, I'd say no. The towpath can be quite narrow in places with treeroots etc, and es, you do need to cross the river, go through a couple of gates.

Its a lovely race though, I'd like to do it again sometime :)

yep. No chance on a PB in the July heat, through the gates, the cow shit, and the fields.

I MUST remember to enter!! It is an excellent event with good organization.

It's kind of... rivery. You pretty much run along the Thames Path so it is scenic. Footpaths by river, field by river, couple of little town bits linking it all up.You start in Windsor this year (I think), which is a nice place, and end in Marlow which is also a nice spot. I'd describe it as pleasant.

I'm doing this one. According to my training programme I should do a half Marathon on the same weekend as this, in preparation for the Loch Ness in September.

I have no idea how I'm going to be ready to run 13.1 miles by 22nd July.

Yep it's very scenic and a good crowd. Can get a little busy in places as it's a popular trail in a popular part of the world! The start is in Slough this year due to the Olympic rowing venue , but most of it looks the same. Mud will be factor, I am considering trail shoes but as Beefy says it's a mix of surfaces so not decided yet.

I'm doing this and was thinking of trail shoes, as it will be slippery along the tow paths. Does anyone know how much of the race is on roads?
