I would love to just be able to pick anything up and eat it but I do have to be really careful. Have avoided yeast for numerous years now and it certainly shows, seem to have narrowed it down to things with vinegar in make me react most. Fruit - melon, ripe banana, grapes, raisins etc are all a no no. It's just not worth the discomfort and issues they cause. I do try to reintroduce them every so often without much success

I have an underactive thyroid and have to say since changing my diet at the end of last year I feel great, I consume a lot of fruit and veg via juicing and have cut the majority of refined sugar from my diet alone with caffine and cola ( I was a true addict )

There is loads sugar in fruit, but at least it's natural sugars. People think they can eat it willy billy though because it's fruit forgetting they have quite lot calories. Dried fruit especially, raisins, cranberries et al
