I don't think they're machine translated - google appears to do a pretty good job of translating the same phrases into recognisable English. These translations appear to have been done by someone who doesn't speak English well, possibly using a dictionary. It's not a US vs UK English thing either. Similarly, the list of acceptable alternative answers for many of the new lessons is incomplete - it's quite common to have to guess whether it wants tu or usted, whereas in the earlier lessons either would be acceptable. What surprises me is that there is so much feedback on the forums about this (and Spanish-English is their most popular course). Maybe the staff are all off spending their IPO money. |
