I feel as if I'm sitting comfortably on top of the French and trying to leap up and grasp the Spanish from the floor. I do some Spanish most days even if it's just revision, and a chunk of French and German at least once a week. I stopped the email reminders. I was getting three a day and they were just a pain in the in-box.
Flatlander Jul 2016 1:56pm, 17 Jul 2016 529 posts	Flatlander As well as the daily reminders for each language if I've not tested by a certain time of day, I've recently started to receive a weekly summary of how many XPs I've done in every language. I've been stuck on 54% fluency in Spanish for at least 2 months and I was tired last night when I tackled Spanish. I chose the "Strengthen skills" and got bombarded with lots of words and grammar I don't remember ever coming across. Result - 83 attempts just to get 17 correct answers :-o. Dreadful! Terrible! Awful! So what did Duolingo do? They decided I was now 55% fluent:-o! That made me :-).
Velociraptor Jul 2016 3:53pm, 17 Jul 2016 34,125 posts	Velociraptor Maybe the algorithm is set to increase your fluency as a sort of random reinforcement to make you stay and be experimented on I got a random shunt up in Spanish a few days ago, and today I also got bombarded with some hard stuff during a French strengthening exercise and given another percentage point in fluency.
