Give something up? Wear sack cloth and ashes? Not bloody likely!

40 days and 40 nights (oo-er missis!) of NEW THINGS. Do, see, feel, touch, hear, smell something new every day. Just one will do, just one day - or night - will do. I really don't like to be prescriptive about these things. In fact, as Cole Porter put it, anything goes.

I'm going to try and experience something new every day. Spring's on her way - let's be ready. NB. I am not a hippy. These are not necessarily positive thoughts or happy moments. Don't be soppy! Just be NEW.

Anyone in?

I'm in for this. I might struggle to think of 40 things but I will give it a go.

I'm not sure I could think of 40 new things in a year, let alone one each day. But I'll try.

One thing I AM going to do is to take a New Scientist each day from my big pile of unread copies and read at least one article in it.

I was wondering what to do for Lent and this thread has given me the answer. I will try a 'new thing' as much as I can but I'm also going to do 15 minutes of tidying/decluttering every day too. Some may think 'how can she make that last 40 days' but those are people who have not read my posts on the decluttering thread.

Today's new thing - well sort of - we went to the 'new' course of dog training that we have just signed up to. New teacher (for today at least) and several new dogs in the group too - to be fair it was more of a 'new thing' for Wanda than me as I took it more in my stride than she did but it's still 'new' and I'm counting it :-)
