Hills of Death (HOD)
Been on Setraline since 2020 working for me initially I lost weight a few pounds back on but I’m still less than when I started. (12.7 stone 2020 10.7 stone 2021 and currently 11.8) just wondering if I cut back or stopped maybe weight would go back down 🤷🏻♂️. On 100 mg now

Thanks LMH - know I need to stick it out a bit longer though. Mirtazapine was decreased gradually over a couple of weeks then alternate days with sertraline for a week. This is the first week of just sertraline.

Another sertraline user here. Since 2016.
Previously been on fluoxitine and before that citralopram.
Also on mirtazepine 30mg.
I started off on 100mg setraline in 2016 and suited better than the others. I was on 200mg for about 6 months of 2021 when I totally fell apart.
(Also on zopiclone and diazepam but not ever day)
Since then I have very very slowly weaned to the 100mg I'm on now but not till I added mirtazepine 15mg then in reased to 30mg.
This seems to be the best control of my symptoms ive ever had but I also have some sertraline wiggle room if I have a dip.
Ive been on something since 2002 now. The last 2-3 yrs have been relitively stable, when wobbles were due to extreme shit life was flinging at me, but they were wobbles not crashes like previously.
I have accepted that if this is what I need then its the same as any other long term/life long medication that a chronic condition may need.
Reaching that decision has helped reduced anxiety as I no longer judge myself for 'not getting better' and 'not getting off meds'.
(My GP made a 'at last' kind if comment when I said this to her)

I think the hard work is trying to find out what works for you. My GP was surprised when I said I wanted to cut down. She will be more than happy if I stay on the 20mg for a while to come.

I'm glad you're at peace with it Sushi and I agree with you totally. I have to take physical health meds daily for the rest of my life and don't see the difference.
i_w - I hope the side effects settle soon.
Probably if you increased your exercise and decreased your calorie intake HoD.
Feel free to Fmail if you have any questions/just want an understanding ear Happy - and anyone else for that matter.

LMH if I reduced my intake I’d be on 0 meals a day and I do 30-40 mpw currently (no different to 2021)

No offence meant HoD - it was a tongue in cheek comment - hence the smilie!
