Livejournal lets you edit posts until somebody has replied to them. Lets you fix typos quickly, doesn't let you completely change something that's had a reasoned reply to it. Not a bad system, I think. |

I like that people have to think about what they write knowing that they can't post in anger/haste and delete at leisure. A few typos is a reasonable pay off. And they make me laugh sometimes

I vote for *not* having an edit function. In case anyone asks, I also vote for *not* having the means to click a button and see a list of posts made by an individual site member. What I'd really, really like, though, is for people's posts and blog comments to remain on the site when they flounce. There are some very untidy BTL exchanges on many of my old blog entries because the comments made by people who deregistered (sometimes only briefly - YKWYA) evaporated. |
