What's cycle touring? Is that where you go from place to place, like a holiday type thing?

Touring typically refers to multi day rides, carrying everything on the bike, and either using hotels or campsites.
The term bikepacking is also used, though that more typically refers to wild camping excursions, often off-road. It also covers ridiculously long unsupported races such as the Trans-Continental.

Yes Mr Fetch. Can also be a single day away, more a case of riding to go see somewhere as opposed to just riding to get a few miles in. But anything from one day to a round the world trip. Not sure I could get that permission from Mrs Dill though, so mor likely a night or two away in a tent/b&b/ hostelly type place

So can I count my 2-day Kent excursion? Staying in a hotel in Margate (Walpole Bay) for my sister's birthday bash (pre-plague). We rode the Kent / Viking / Thanet coast path to Pegwell Bay to see the Viking long ship one day (and back), then to Reculver to see the towers the next day. I never knew I'd done cycle touring, till now.
The power of a noobie site! Is there a badge for it?

I've got a noob question. This is something I've noticed throughout October, so I'm assuming it's related to the cold air - but I'm finding that my nostrils are getting full up with moisture on a regular basis. Is this common? And are there any strategies for stopping it? (Like maybe a buff over the face - but that feels like it'd just get wringing wet) It's not too much of a pain really, and I've perfected the snot rocket, saving them for when cars get too close

No. Accept the labrador nose! Mine constantly runs when I ride and is worse in the cold.
I have thought I get some reduction by using a hayfever nasal spray regularly, so I try to continue that through the winter if I remember.
