Thanks Dibble, I had a feeling that might be the case - either that or one cheap enough would be a bit naff. Right, best start saving!

The only problem I foresee with Fetch bar tape is that I'm going to have to buy a bike that has taped bars, aren't I? Ah well, they do say the correct number of bikes is N+1.

SsH, both my parents have converted their bikes with E kits over the last year, and they were pretty easy and effective. It slightly dependent upon how much you like your existing bike. A conversion is a lot cheaper than most new ebikes, and whilst probably not as perfectly integrated, can still be very good if there are lots you like of your existing bike. However if you don't really like your current one, converting it probably won't change that. |

I've realised that whilst we have a 'for noobs' thread, we don't have a general thread for the not-noobs. What do people think about changing the name of this thread, vs creating a second thread: |

There is I believe a 'how was your cycle today' thread. Would it make sense to change that to the general cycling thread, and leave this one for beginner questions?

There's the "Bike Thread" which I thought was for general bike/cycling stuff fetcheveryone.com/forum/bike-thread-4600/ And also a specific mountain biking one called " Fat tyre thread" which would be hard to guess and search for if you were a newbie to mountain biking |

Thread 3 - mountain biking / fat tyre It's true Gus, sometimes we can be a bit cryptic and in joke, (dare i say cliquey, no) which must prove hard for anyone searching for something in particular..... |

I think the appeal of this one for people like me is 'no question is too stupid'?
