Dvorak Aug 2020 11:28pm, 30 Aug 2020 20,602 posts	Dvorak Tyres? Do do mean wheels? If so, yes, they are. You may need to release the brakes first though, to get the tyre past (or deflate the tyre).

It's a cam mechanism, so you turn one end cap until vaguely tight, and then flip the lever in to secure the wheel. There has been a move towards thru-axles with the introduction of disc brakes. The axle comes out of the wheel, and threads into the frame or an external nut. Some have a lever, others need an Allen key. Personally I think they're a retrograde step, but expect they're here to stay.
