Oh, and if I was going to match them, I'd get the conti to make a pair as it's the 'better' tyre.

They're both Contis. The GP4000s is the previous generation of high end all rounder, and a lot nicer a tyre than the gatorskin. There's no issue with mismatched tyres (and as they do different things it could make sense to have it that way). Personally with that combo, I'd probably go gatorskin rear, GP4000 front. Two reasons. Firstly the gatorskin is a nominally cheaper tyre, and rear tyres usually wear quicker, so it should be cheaper long term. Secondly, and depending on the riding style maybe more significant, you should get better handling and grip from the GP4000, and it's the front you really want to be able to trust if you're pushing it through corners. You can save a bit of rear wheel sliding, but if the front lets go it's a lot harder to keep upright. |

Oh, and you may struggle to find many GP4000s out there as they've been replaced by the GP5000. If you're not trying to rail corners at speed, you may like the extra puncture resistance of the gatorskin, and they should be cheaper (the rrp on a gatorskin is abou half that of a GP5000) if that matters to you. |

I replaced my gatorskins with the Continental Grand Prix 4 Season. They still have puncture resistance and are quite durable and I find the grip is a lot better in the wet. I run 28c at about 80psi fwiw - 28s are a very tight squeeze on my bike but they fit, just. |

No sure if anyone here can help A few years ago my mum bought son a bike - after a few wobbly rides totalling less than 20-30m he hated it. Bike has remained in my garage. So it’s as new but flat tyres! Nothing special Halfords similar time this halfords.com Someone from tri club is after a bike for uni ..... any ideas on how much I should price this at? Son is currently worrying about jib security so I’d like as much as possible so he has some money to start saving in case he loses his job |

£30. That's with a couple of new tubes fitted. (Sorry ) Although in these bike shortage times you could try for £50, I suppose. |

Start on £60, then you can knock a tenner off Worth a look to see what's on Gumtree, and for how much. Not, currently, all that much it seems. Example: gumtree.com |
