Well done LG. And HP, even if you never had a choice Happy New Bike, when it comes!
Scotland had some bicycle repair scheme vouchers available, all gone quickly. More will be available, and a spokesperson expressed the wish that cyclists who could afford repairs leave them for those who can't. Hmm.

Gooner I have signed up to Sufferfest for a year - got 2 months free with the turbo
I have tried Zwift and found it boring - I may have been using it wrong
Sufferfest uses footage from bike races and has batty commentary and sound effects which is mildly amusing!

I'm having fun.
For reasons I needed to bring my MTB back from work last week as I couldn't ride, so the missus was passing by in the car and I put it in the boot.
In the process of removing the rear wheel, I somehow managed to pull off the whole rear mech. So it's in the shop now awaiting repair. They're fully booked until Aug 28.
So I'm commuting on my racer. I haven't used the racer regularly since about 2011.
Wow! Not the most confortable ride ever, but I absolutely whizz along.

I commute (when I am) mainly on my road bike. I switched from a hybrid to a roadie in about 2014 and I've never looked back.
I do use the MTB when it's snowing or when the roadie is getting a service, but I find it hard going on the road, uphill, with bigger chunky tyres. I could take it easier - but I'm not wired that way

I much prefer the riding position on the MTB, especially as I've often got a big old bag to carry. I've put a more hybrid tyre on. To be honest, I'm still coveting a proper Hybrid for the commute.

Yeah, the hybrid tyres will make a difference. I don't tend to go on the drops too much when I'm commuting, to be honest. Road surface is still crap as is the infrastructure (although there has been some movement on this since lockdown started).
That said, the wider hand position of the MTBs and hybrids can be more comfy for a lot of people. (and some will say more stable).

For some reason the road surfaces in secondary position on all the roads I take to work are awful, there are many longitudinal ruts (but mainly a metre or so from the kerb, neither in the gutter, not further into the road). I don't notice them on the MTB, but I do on the racer. Thankfully, I'm a bit happier to hog primary position on the racer as I'm going that bit quicker.

I have a couple of bits of road like that too DeeGee. Thought it was just me.
Can't for the life of me work out what they are for. Assumed it's a mistake by the road workers when fixing something, but that's probably wide of the mark!!

Hi everyone, can I ask a question about tyres? (I'm really sorry if this is the noobiest of noobie questions!)
I have a road bike which has Gatorskins on it. They have been great, but are aged, and need replacing. The lovely ishep had bought me new tyres for my upcoming birthday (isn't he great!) However, when he went to pick up the identically tyres, they actually only had one in stock, not two! 🙈
They sold him the one Gatorskin, plus a continental grand Prix 4000 sII
Questions:
Is it ok to have mismatched tyres? If I stick with both, which would be better on the back? If we manage to find a matching one for either, (proving difficult!) Which one would you go for, and why?
Thanks!

There is no issues with running different tyres on the front and back, they're both similar styles of tyre too so it shouldn't really matter which goes where but personally I'd put the conti on the back as it seems to have better puncture protection and less stiff sidewalls.
