I finally went outside on my bike today for the first time this year. It was so lovely to get going (once hubby had sorted out the chain/gear issues). Feel so unfit though and cant see me getting back on the turbo now I ha e that outside buzz again

This afternoon I will clean my bike Swap the seat to the one I had on my old bike - I’ve been meaning to do this for a while 4-5 years maybe!

Nice cycling all!
@HP - if your friends are cycling fat tyre/hybrid doesn't that mean that the roadie won't be suitable for the terrain? There are loads of paths/towpaths round here that my hybrid manages fine but that would death for my road bike. I don't have a MTB. Sell the road bike and buy a hybrid?

I won’t get much for the road bike but it’s an idea. They do all sorts tbh. They sometimes do a full loop on road but often with a bit of off road/fire track type stuff on the hybrids.

I haven’t been on my bike for a couple of years. Today I got all the bikes out of the garage, gave them a wash, pumped up the tyres, checked the brakes, and oiled the chains. The smallest one is now too small for my youngest so we might try and sell it, except that the back brake appears to be broken beyond simple adjustment.

I've been commuting twice this week (1st time ever) on an atb? (I think it is, it has front fork and frame suspension) and I've just got back from 9 miles on my sons hybrid. Harder/firmer ride than my bike and thinner tyres.
I may need something in between tyre wise and perhaps a better seat.

There’s rumours/leaks of a “bike maintenance grant” - to resurrect old bikes. Possibly £50 ?

Halfpint - slick or semi-slick, and thinner, tyres for the mtb? Possibly on different wheels for ease of changing? (Cheapest way to get extra wheels may be to buy an old, but not crap, second hand bike.)
I've cycled for the last six days, which is five more than in the previous ten weeks. Fetch went almost as far in one day today though - and considerably faster. I notice he even found a couple of hills - I thought he said it was all flat down that way

Dvorak you are a genius. I have semi-slicks already AND there is a spare bike in the garage. I can have my good old faithful Specialized for MTBing and the second hand Cube (which is actually lighter) with slicks for other stuff.
