Marshalls / Aid Crowd support Cake / food on offer Speed and quality of results Toilet experience (matron) Course congestion Well-controlled start (e.g. pens) Chip timing Finish area Timeliness of race pack / information / registration PB potential Hilliness Medal / memento / goodies Scenery (thank you) Would you do it again and recommend it to others? Parking / Transport to start Value for money (guess that incorporates cost per mile?) Seriousness of runners (i.e. friendly all-welcome versus gnarled club runners only) Likelihood of a naked DeeGee swinging towards you in the showers. Size of the field & range of finishing times - I think this is more about race information, rather than reviews - I'll have a think about how to incorporate that. |

What does finish area mean? Maybe give examples? I'm assuming you mean bag collection/space blankets/water bottle at end? Mars bar in goody bag should have its own category Ought to be compulsory. |

Accuracy of race distance seems important to many - now many times have we seen people moaning that a given event was long/short? Also - accuracy/completeness of the prior information - I don't care when I receive it - and it doesn't matter when I receive it - so long as it tells me what I need to know. The quality of this can vary considerably and often in inverse proportion to the price of the event. Just an opinion now - need to be careful about including Chip Timing as a simple good/not good factor. There's no doubt that the use of chips increases the speed and accuracy of results for larger events, which generally cost more. Equally, for many smaller events they are an unnecessary extra cost. Similar arguments could be made with respect to medals etc - if I pay £5 for a local 10k through the lanes with a few dozen others, then I wouldn't expect anything at the end except access to some water and a place to sit down. If I were to pay £20 for a much bigger event, I'd expect road closures, chip times, hot showers, a goodie bag full of food and a medal I could use to hold doors open with. Which is a long winded way of saying that its all wrapped up in the subjective 'Value for Money' box |

I guess I'm referring to how well it's all managed - like whether there's a good funnelling system, or whether it's all a bit chaotic, or whether it's like a race I saw once where people were queuing to finish.
