Should be awesome as usual. Although it is usually a bit of a rude awakiening and reminder of how fat and lazy I have been recently...

I've never had to run in a race with maps before so this should be fun. I think my Garmin has a feature where I can plot a route on a map and load it up to my watch so that I don't stray too far off course. Is that kind of navigation aid the 'done thing'?

Bensey there are people with garmins which usually do them ok. There are also quite a few who have done it a few times and you'll be able to follow them. Remember the last 20 miles or so is on the canal where the only thing you have to remember is to turn left with 13 miles to go on the Paddington branch :)

What a glorious day for a run! With no rain for several days beforehand and then a sunny, frozen January morning we couldn't have asked for any better. I really enjoyed the first half of the race through the beautiful countryside. The second-half wasn't quite as picturesque (to say the least) so I just put my head down and picked up my pace from 7min/km to 5:30min/km to finish in a respectable 6:52 (1:08 under target).

Well done Bensey, great time. What a great day the weather was perfect. The early morning temps made pack a few too many clothes but once that sun came out it felt like shorts and t shirt weather! Had great run yesterday with Els, Binks, Drew & Clare, really enjoyed your company and helping me to a new pb! See you at a race soon :)

Great to meet you yesterday Bensey and keep us informed with all the great running in CA :)

Pleasure running with you as always Gritts. We absolutely spanked it in the first half.

Here is my blog.
