Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Could we please have a Parkrun thingy in the training Category

Dvorak - no, they designate all fell races as ZFL - i.e. Z for "other distance" and FL for "Fell"

Because they are not olympic/major disciplines, fell and mountain racing often gets overlooked, despite our GB teams having success in both the European and World Mountain running champs in recent years. Same to be said for Ultra racing as well to a certain extent.

Saint - all WFRA insured races should have the same standing as Scottish Hill Runners insured races and FRA insured races. These are the designated governing bodies through UKA.

Still don't get why they don't like ARC insured races though, except that they want the money into UKA instead.

Lol.

Does it matter if it is or isn't a race?

Does it matter if some categories of training seem useless/pointless to some ppl.

Fetch very kindly tries to accommodate as many ppls training choices as poss and gives an option for those that dont want to scroll through the whole list the ability to 'edit'.

parkrun results are included in powerof10 (http://www.thepowerof10.info/) therefore they *MUST* be races...

It doesn't matter whether it is a race or not race, but we know a race when we see one!

Next they'll call a marathon a timed run!

Marathon you say, I thought that was an old fashioned chocolate bar not a blinking running race.

Personally, I think that if anything, the big city marathons are little more than time trials these days. Well for the elites anyway - look at Berlin last year with all those pacemakers for Makau and Haile. Was that a race? No. A Time trial for the World record? Yes.

True TTs are on your own with no help so they're not real TTs.

The big city marathons are races built for the fastest runner on the day, they take the tactics out of it, as someone other than the true racers is keeping the pace high.

To the undoubted sarcasm about Power Of 10, if it doesn't contain results of races, then what exactly is it ? And once more, why are my lunchtime runs not there?
