This a family WhatsApp update on a friend of a family member, details from a hospital source **he has Covid pneumonia, and that he MAY have meningitis, or encephalitis, so they are treating him for both’

This is a healthy guy in his early 30’s who refused the vaccine. He is on full life support. His wife and daughter are also poorly. I’ve posted this also on the discussion thread. So sad.

Thanks Lizzie... I am under an allergy specialist. I had a heart attack and nearly died of anaphylaxis aged 13, from a vaccine booster.
We know what I am allergic to. If I decided to take the risk, not advised, it will be adminstered in a&e with the crashcart next to me.
I have to hold out for a non-mrna type that doesn't require PEGs and the like.
It may be a while as currently, there is only a small percentage of us. However, if they are going to restrict non-vaccinated, there should be something for the "3%"...

Fizz :-)
Could you have the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, Hann?

(I hadn’t heard of PEG, so I had to Google, and apparently the J&J isn’t MRNA and doesn’t have PEG. but I’m sure I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know)

I had high hopes but j&j also contains potential allergens AND isn't widely accepted but at least it is only 1 dose = half the risk compared to the others.

Thing is, we do not know what new stuff I may be allergic to. I have to say, I am much much more anxious about dying from anaphylaxis. It is highly likely I won't survive this time, damaged heart, than I am of CoVid. So current advice is to sit it out.

I guess there must be something in the AZ that you are allergic too also then Hanneke (as a non mRNA vaccine)? For someone with a damaged heart you have managed a lot athletically!

AZ is contraindicated because of my heart...
As I have lived with it from an early age, it hasn't caused much trouble, other than puzzled coaches and doctors as I seem to be able to keep my HR down while still performing well :)
My GP always used to keep track of my achievements as he could not believe how I never let injuries and other defects deter me :)
If asked, I always state I am extremely healthy :)
In fact, it wasn't until CoVid came along. Now I am suddenly an invalid! I can't wear a mask either: it sends my heart rate into overdrive :-o

Is that due to mask anxiety Hanneke?

You are still healthy Hanneke. It’s just that the world around you, and the way that health is measured, has changed. Temporarily hopefully.
