Out in Tenerife, and mask wearing on buses is mandatory. Most I've worn a mask almost throughout I think, as we're out and about exploring a lot. Not required in shops, bars or restaurants though.

Very, very quiet at the vaccine centre today for my booster. I was literally in and out in two mins, no queues at any point, car park quiet, so quite different to last time which, although efficient, was busy. A brief chat with the nurse suggested uptake is low.

There are a lot less people eligible this year as it is only oldies.

Interestingly even though the covid vacc centre is doing flu jabs, the local Boots is also well booked up for these (which it wasn't in previous years when we had to pay). I'm sure there are a lot of people getting jabbed, even if a substantial proportion aren't.

Jab #4 on Sunday afternoon. Wanted to get flu jab too, but they'd run out. I now have full house of AZ, Pfizer and Moderna No after effects and went swimming fine on Monday night.

Slightly shocked to discover that institutional policy at my university is now that there is no need to inform anyone who has been in contact w a student who has subsequently tested positive. So someone in my class could test positive on a day when I have spent two hours in a room w them and there is no requirement for any member of staff that they inform to inform me.

I think it's a bit shit tbh. If I know I've been exposed, then I can test

I just test twice a week anyway. I'm assuming that most students aren't going to test because they're expensive. I've also made good masks available for free and no-one wanted one, so I think most students are "over covid".
