Just how 'multi terrain' is this course? Described on RW as 'more like a fell race' - would it be fast enough if it was dry? I don't do all that squelching about, it's not running to me.

Think I've just wasted another £30. Dread to think how much money I waste entering races spontaneously 'cause I haven't checked the distance or terrain. Uuuughhhh.

It's off road so conditions will depend on the day. I've run a winter 8 miler there and it wasn't muddy.

I can promise you that it really is not going to be anything like a fell race. There isn't anything remotely resembling a hill in Coombe Abbey park. Even by Warwickshire standards.

So if it's dry, it should be alright then?

I guess I have a bit of a distorted perception because of all the rain we had last year... after a few off-road half marathons, I vowed to never do off-road again (for some perspective, one half marathon took me 2 hours 10 minutes - and I'm a 1.28 half marathoner!)

I run around coombe abbey as part of some training routes I do. Its more "trail" than off road so you wont be coming across any particulalry rough ground or many undulations. As this is local to me it sounded quite interesting until I found out its 12x3.5km laps! Not for me im afraid, 2 maybe 3 laps at a push but 12! Big Yawn lol!
