Hello,

I'm around the area on the day. With a bike. Is this race as good as folklore tells it?

I have 2 options in my life that day:

1. Get race bus from Galway to the race, run the half marathon, get race bus back to Galway, get a real bus for couple hours to Westport that evening. A big faff, but I get to run the race.

(It seems I can't cycle to the start and then on to Westport after due to road closures, and god knows where I would leave panniers with 2 weeks stuff in)

2. Cycle the 100 miles round Connemara to Westport. It's lovely, I've done it before, twice. But to do this means no half marathon.

It's also 70 euros :-ooooo (this does include the race buses, but I'm used to like £20 halfs!)

So, is it worth it?

Got something to say?
