My first 2 were slower than 10 hours. Then the rest were sub 9. Two were sub 8. But I'm old now, so not sure what to expect 😂

Some fantastic times there, especially going sub 8.

Have you any advice on getting to the start? I’m staying in Durban and at the moment I’m getting the official bus to the start. However I’ve found out that it leaves at 2am, so I’m wondering if there’s a better way? Uber?

That is very early, but I think it is your best bet. I don't think Uber is an option, and the main road between Durban and Pietermaritzburg is full of roadworks and construction at the moment. I would offer you a lift, but I am staying in Pietermaritzburg. I will try and think of other options for you.

Minor disaster, I twisted my ankle on Friday night. It was pretty sore on Saturday and Sunday, so didn't do the 55km long run that I planned to do on Sunday.

I'll be OK for race day, just a bit unsure about when I'll be back training.

Good luck to you

Haven't been since 2008 and not getting back sadly due to an old body.

Make sure you take time to breath it all in. Without a doubt the finest race I ever did and I've done a few.

I planned 4 and did 3 , entered twice to go a 4th time and broke down in training twice. 2nd time was the end of my ultra running career.

I got a silver but never really nailed it.

Oh Icenutter! I really hope it is healing well and not too serious.

The Comrades Organisers have put out a warning to runners coming from Durban on the morning of the race - to leave very early because of the roadworks. They have suggested that everyone should leave by 3 am. So I think your bus departure time is a good thing.

I hope you are managing to get some cross training done.

Is anyone doing Comrades this year?

I’ve got a place carried over from 2020 and we all know how 2020 panned out. Trainings going well at the moment. This will be my first ultra, so it’s a big step up.
