I've kept lots of race numbers, but there's only one I've ever wanted to frame:

My medals used to be on a curtain pole, but they're now in a shoebox apart from a few very important ones.

I have race numbers too, I wrote a short note about the race on the back of each one! This was an idea given to me by a horse riding trainer who suggested I did this to remember horse competitions, its really great to look back on because you think you will remember but the detail fades over time..... except that of course these days you can write a blog. :)

I have a collection of 50p's from the 2012 Olympics.

Also, my local parkrun has a resident photographer so I've started collecting photos of my attendance in an album on Facebook ....... does that count or does it have to be a physical thing ?

Medals :-O Yes! I have them all. The ones that moved house with us are in a bag in the garage, the ones we've collected since are slung on anything capable of holding a medal. Cupboard door handles, mostly.

I must get some poles up for them again.

I have never kept a race number deliberately.

I don't really do medals, they tend not to get handed out at fell races. You don't even get one for the UTMB races :-(

I do 50ps though :-) bigleggy - have you got all the 2012 ones? Am thinking of the swimming one that had the fault in it, pretty valuable isn't it? I found a badminton 50p just the other day :-)

Limited run vinyl [200 to 1000 copies per tune] by 90s - 00s sampling/electro duo, 'Lemon Jelly'. The artwork is a graphic designer's dream, quite literally, and some of the music can be heard as background to nature & historical TV docos.

I wonder what drives us to collect "stuff"? This would be a good topic for a thesis, I expect someone has already done one!

I reckon a Desmond Morris type would say it's to do with nest-building, i.e. making a place feel safe and cosy. We aren't being chased by actual sabre-tooth tigers any more so it's a displacement activity for making your cave individually yours.

Fivers. Any I get are stored away for a rainy day. Bit of a pain when you get thirty quid from the atm and there are 4 fivers in it.

Also yarn, medals and numbers, lego, and books.
