Anyone know what the course conditions are like at the moment? Not done this before and wondering if I could get away with road shoes.

After all this rain it is pretty much guarenteed to be muddy!! Road shoes are a definite no I would say.

The trails around Guildford (local-ish) are still quite good despite lots of night time rain. Depends how grippy your road shoes are, I suppose
