I've been around here forever and have always enjoyed the Christmas names but never really understood how to set one and protect my Fetchname And talking of Fetchnames - how do you choose yours? I know you are the right people to ask. |

I suppose you *could* set up another account with e.g. a hotmail email address. Call that WA2 for example. Then you change your main name to MerryWA etc. Then change WA2 to WA for the duration. When the festivities are over, just change that back and change MerryWA back to WA. |

Never thought about people nicking your name, who shall I be - Doc Moye or StuHolmes? Actually I wonder if Fetch has thought of this and has saved names once linked to an email address? |

I doubt anyone would want to nick my name, and I doubt anyone would stumble upon it accidentally. And it doesn't lend itself to a jaunty Christmas variation.

I do seem to remember someone having their name "nicked" once. It was a fairly ordinary name which I suppose a new person just happened to share and used to register while the original owner had adopted something else for a while - no malice intended.

Badger commented on another thread that he knows there is a Fetchie who would grab the name Badger if he adopted a Xmas name - they have even contacted Fetch about it!

To answer the other question, my mind was a blank when I signed up, and all the first names I thought of had been taken, gazing out of the window for inspiration all I could see were swirling autumn leaves - so I thought that would do
