I'm considering buying a chest light. I can only find Kalenji at Decathlon. Does any Fetchie use this? How good/bad is it? Also, I see that it has a rear light and battery - can these be moved? I often run with a rucksack at night.

I think Rosehip has one? Might have imagined that though!

As for your rucksack i'm sure i've seen ones albeit in a bike shop that you can clip onto a rucksack, though that was a long time ago

oi you
I have one. Once properly adjusted I find it less distracting than a headlight.

It's very bright but not a tightly focussed beam, so provides good general lighting. There's also a flashing red LED on the battery pack.

I've used it on poorly lit street and around the playing fields at the club, and it's fine in both those settings.

I've not run with it in the real dark, out in the countryside for example, but I'd suspect it would be fine there too.
There may be enough adjustment in the straps to enable it to fit over a backpack, but I've not tried it, and it may be a bit uncomfortable.

I've just bought one, arrived today! Not tried it for real, ran up and down my landing in the dark- seemed ok, adjustable straps good. Feels comfy, very bright. I'm hoping it will stop me tripping over- dodgy eyes in the dark!

This is an old thread... does anybody have any more recent experience of running with a chest light, and/or recommendations? Thanks.

I can't give personal experience but I notice that Flipbelt has released one that fits into their belt making it a waist light. I can imagine this might work better than a chest light, avoiding body sway, but I haven't looked for a review or experience yet.

Got something to say?
