I was not previously aware of http://www.marathoninvestigation.com/. There are some who would leave it (they're only cheating themselves, after all), but as this woman actually placed, I'm 100% behind Mr Murphy's action in this case.

If they enter a race whatever place they finish, they have no intention of just cheating themselves and they are finishing ahead of some that might actually care if they finish in the top 10, 100, 1000, etc.

Good touch, cycling the whole route after, at the right pace, to get the appropriate strava segment up.

Still think the great Kip Lutton, who invented an entire race out of thin air to cheat in remains No.1....

Interesting site. But regarding the thread title, it would seem that quite often cheats prosper and sometimes to quite an extent.
