So... now I actually have enough muscle definition that my thighs chafe when I run... solutions? It is roasting in Italy right now so longer shorts/trousers are not an option. Is it to vaseline we turn in times of need?

Also, how to ladies manage to run whole marathons or even train more than 10k at a time without taking a pee? What do you do?

bodyglide for chaffing

portaloos for marathons

up to half marathon generally fine but plan training routes where you can either pee alfresco or nip into a supermarket loo etc.

portaloos. phew! Training is really a problem in Italy because you can't use a loo unless you buy a coffee or something to drink, hence even more need to pee! (No discreet bushes either on the packed riviera.) I'll look out for the bodyglide.

Can't help you on your second question but the answer to the first question is a) lycra cycle-short type running tights and b) Vaseline or Lanacane

Bodyglide as a lubricant. Vaseline eats holes in clothes over time.

Can't comment on toilets - not a problem I have to worry about.

Bodyglide is great. I was using compression shorts which totally eradicated the problem until last week, so it may be back to bodyglide again for me.

You deserve thigh rash for a humblebrag like that :P

And the peeing thing ... either take advantage of public loos on training runs or choose routes where there'll be a friendly bush to duck behind. In races, all I can suggest is run fast enough and don't drink too much ;)

Actually, my knees rub together when I run.
