The MC contravened the Trade Descriptions Act with his pronouncement of it being the fastest and flattest Cardiff course ever. My arse. The three previous years were easier. Even 2008 with the grasscrete section!

My Garmin said that I'd done 13.25 miles - are they trying to make up for last year?!!! I also thought this course was much harder - more hilly bits, or as my daughter would say 'some slight elevations'!

didn't expect to do well today and i really struggled, at the risk of starting World War 3 my Garmin measured 13.27 miles, perhaps we were getting a refund from last year.

Wasn't flat at all was it. I have only done this year and 2009, and 2009 felt much easier.

Certainly wasn't the flattest! A few challenging climbs as WR stated earlier in this thread.

Garmins generally measure longer as very few us take the most direct racing line, and often we're weaving around others and going wide on corners etc.

I had to pull out of this race due to injury. Sorry to sound shallow, but was the goody bag any good?

Lol GinaJ.

It's OK I guess, tho I'm easily pleased. It contained t-shirt, Redbush tea bags, Energy drink, Health bar & small tube of toothpaste.

As Daz says a Garmin should read long really especially if you have any reasonably tight turns

About This Thread

Maintained by Caterpillar
Post race drinkies in The Eli Jenkins between Bute Crescent and Stuart Street. (Stand with your back to the front of the armadillo just outside where the big words are, turn 45 degrees to your left, it is about 100m in front of you). Hopefully drinkies will be accompanied by flapjacks and welsh cakes.
