11th March 2012, around the city center and up the river a little. I only started running again two weeks ago, and have entered - it gives me something concrete to train for...

It'll be as flat as a pancake and fast. I'm in. I wish it weren't the same day as Mick'n'Phil but Her Indoors might come and watch this one.

Me too. Planning to do the Boundary Run, too, which would rule this out as well.
A shame. Looks like a nice route. Perfectly flat. Starting at 9am, too, which means that nearly everyone will be through the town sections before the shops start opening up, which will make it much less of a nightmare to marshal than the Cambridge RFL.

Not sure I like the look of the route though - maybe it won't feel quite so dizzying in reality, but that's a lot of laps of the same bits of road. Not nearly as many Conquercise zones as a HM deserves... ;)

Wow. There hasn't been a Cambridge half marathon for years. My Dad used to run it. Tempting, could combine it with a trip to see the folks.

Given how much time I spend running round Jesus Green and the commons it'll feel like the biggest training run in the world.

Hmmm *lurks* :) Would be nice to do a race where the start/finish is 1/2 mile from home.

Looking at the route I would imagine the bit where you come off of Midsummer common along Riverside and on to Stourbridge Common might be a bit narrow for two way runner traffic? Not to mention those bollards and cattle griddy bits. I'm assuming they can remove those / cover it up if needs be, or am I reading the map wrong? I suppose by that time runners would be fairly spread out. Looks good though...

The bollards and cattle grids will give those of us with local knowledge a bit of an edge... ;-) Who knows, they may even open some gates?
