Think you're right HB. I was talking to a work colleague who was going to enter until he saw the price and the fee and the post charge.

Fair number of my colleagues are doing it, but most of us are close enough to cycle in so no transport or accommodation costs, which makes it feel more reasonable. Not sure how far I’d be willing to travel for it at that price tbh.

My son rocked up and did 1:32 at Cambridge HM last year, off the back of not too much training - he did some long runs topping out at about 18k. He wants to take it more seriously this time round and target a time of 1:20 - he's been doing a lot more running since then and would be comfortable with a plan of 50+ km per week.

Anybody have any suggestions for good training plans? I'm familiar with Hal Higdon plans and I assume there's Pfitzinger & Furman HM plans too, but that kind of speed is well out of my experience.

Don’t 🤭 laugh everyone, but at my age, time hurtles by. It will be Christmas again before I know it.

So, while it’s fresh in the old memory banks, will there be a Fetch meet-up before the half marathon, for the obligatory photo. If so, where?

I’m looking forward to it. I’ve run 🏃🏼‍♂️ the half 3 times in the past, but when it was two laps of the city. I might be tempted to stop off at The Orchard for tea & cake 🍰 on the way round.

I get free bed & breakfast in Cambridge as our eldest daughter lives there. Actually, that's a bit of a fib. It's not free, as I'm always press-ganged into wiring in new power points, or fixing her bicycle or changing a leaking tap washer etc.

The Bridge pub, I don't know that one, but I'm sure if I change the washers in her shower, or re-grout the tiles in her kitchen, she'll tell me where it is.

Look forward to seeing you all.
