My advice is never look up on the last Km, the fountain never seems to get nearer.

Tappers, good advice. you can see the finish for about a km. just don't look at it!

apart from that the course is flat and fairly strightforward. and for a first race it is perfect as it has people of all abilities so The Boy won't be on his own at all.

Hello Stumpy! He's a good runner - he just hasn't entered a race yet - and I am slowly but surely trying to bring him over to the dark side!!! Well the running side!!

Plus it gives him a chance to race against me - and neither of us will want to lose - we are hugely competitive (but in a nice way - is there a nice way??)!
