I think I might give it a shot then. Just a bit concerned about the return journey.

As it stands it will be a 25 mile round trip + 3.1 at bushy.

I dont know ow you did it TMW. I'm going to bring my oyster card & go home via the 65 from kingston if I don't feel up to it after a chat & bacon roll at BPTT or I might make sure a friend is driving down when I first try this

Kieren... just a thought... if you are dead set on another marathon... then take a look at the schedules from Serpies, from RW or from Hal. I think you'll find that none of them contain very many long runs... in fact I'd be surprised if any of them contain anything longer than 22 - and some won't contain longer than 18 - and none will suggest doing a 5km burst of speed work in the middle!

If it is lots of long running you want then maybe find out about Pfitzinger's schedules (or whatever his name is!)

Cheers H & TMW.

I don't really intend to be constantly doing long runs. Ideally I need a 20 mile run but can't seem to get it to work with BPTT. 3 laps of richmod park is fine but I'd rather something I didn't have to travel to.

As for looking at the schedules, I have & althoguh they were interesting, I think Im probably a coaches worst nightmare. I've decided to plan my own schedule for building up a base over the next 1/4. Lidiard is the guy I'm most closely following although it's pretty much my own interpretation with a little strength / core work thrown in.

No more marathons until at least june 2007 for me.

Running to BPTT doesn't seem workable for me unless one of my friends is driving so I can grab a lift back. I think, on reflection, I'll have to cycle down, race, & cycle back keeping the lond steady run for Sunday

Kieren - where do you live? I drive to BPTT as I'm a lazy git and, unsurprisingly, drive from Balham. If you're en route(ish) I will happily swing by on any weeks we're both running

I would love to come along one day, but I also was wondering how to get there... running would be too much from earls Court (run to river and join towpath at Hammersmith Bridge, follow sout side of river until Richmond etc etc etc

I could cycle or drive. How long would it take to drive? In London traffic? I'd have to be back in Notting Hill to open the gallery at 11 am...

You'd find it takes no time at all in the morning (takes me 25 mins from Balham)

On the way back it takes me 45 mins. I can't imagine you'd be wildly different

Thanks for the offer BB :)

I'm no way near en route though. I live in Hanwell - it's just past Ealing in West London. It takes me about 30 minutes in the car and about 50 if I cycle.

I've always run a PB when I cycle so I should really do that again. I've just been super lazy in changing the flat on my bike. I keep finding better things to do like surf the net, drinking tea, & eating biscuits
