I don't think the age grading % charts work on ie6 (I know, I know...)

also, if you click on a name from the list to see their detailed history, you then can;t use the back button to go back to the list

Just realised the reason the age grading doesn;t work for me is that I haven't sent my DOB in. Soz.

yeah - the back button thing is my main beef with the system... stupid javascript... a fix will happen "soon"

P.S> You'll notice one person is down as having set a world record (there's a suspicion they might have given a very false date of birth!)

A65

basically it puts all runners, no matter what their age on an 'equal' footing in theory.

look here for more info.
serpentine.org.uk

Fetch also has an age grading section in it. so you can type in your 5k time and age and see what your 'peak' 5k time would be/have been at 'peak' potential age.

not rubbish. will allow you to monitor your improvement. (or more than halfway to a world record if you prefer that way of looking at it :-) )

and with a longer term view it will allow you to compare your performances in 10-15 years time and have a grasp of how well you are doing. ie staying on a percentile line or going above it rather than chasing unrealistic PB's

55% is not rubbish! It still puts you way ahead of most of the population who can't even run 5km!

techy bit = the formula for age grading is very simple - it takes the world record for your age and gender and divides it by your time - then represents the resulting fraction as a percentage.
