hmm. perhaps I could follow you, TMW. Are you likely to notice being hitched up to a trailer with a fat bloke on it?

I'm using you as my pacemaker TMW! I'll only be a minute behind you. Good luck.

19 sounds about right. Don't follow this shaved headed one - I'll be bound to mess it up

So logically caterpillar, if you're coming in a minute behind TMW and you're using him as a pacemaker, I need to find the person being paced by the person being paced by the person being paced by you.

LOL. It might be worse than that, Mac. TMW's PB is 15 seconds better than mine. We might need about twelve pacemakers between us if I get closer to him than one minute, or.... you could aim at 21 minutes and tell the pacemakers to get lost.
I'll be happy to finish up to a minute behind him, but might be a bit disappointed if I'm further adrift than that. I think TMW might be a bit younger than me so I shouldn't expect too much.

Well I'm somewhere in the middle, so in theory I'll finish between you.
And then I'll unicycle over the urals and solve the middle east crisis before lunch.

Ha ha TMW! That means you're going to slow down by two seconds EVERY year until you're old and wrinkly like me. Isn't that depressing!

Apparently my two underlings at work think I'm forty years old. Forty! THat's 38% out! I shall be taking it much easier tomorrow given my age grading.

This thread's too hard to keep up with!
Mac - the points system is 100 for first of each sex, 99 for second, etc... with places 100 onwards all getting 1 point. The year runs from the first race in October to the last race in September. The first race in October is called the "Anniversary Race" and last year was a big party with food and drink - this year could maybe have 500+ people there in which case they will organise the race differently - who knows??? We have talked about adding age grading to the BPTT site but its not happened yet...
