Hi - I'm going to have a bash at this next Saturday and am wondering whether I might come a bit unstuck without trail shoes - I'll just be wearing my Asics Cumulus. Has anyone any advice re the race and is anyone else planning to be there? Cheers :-)

Hi Lalli. Road shoes are fine. The final straight (just over 1k) can get muddy and slippery if it rains continuously for a long time, but it was fine today even after the dreadful weather this week. Everyone runs it with road shoes.
I might be there next week, possibly pushing Greg Jnr.

Hi Greg,
Cheers for that! I'll be with the lady with the fetch shirt - Puffing Bertie! We got chatting when I saw she'd done it today on the "Who's been racing" page. I'm quite looking forward to it now. If you're there next week I can put a face to a running buggy!!

Hi PB. I didn't run BPTT, just went for a leisurely run in BP mid-morning. Got your message re. Reading/Kingston btw. I'd probably run Kingston at long run pace and let rip in the last 3 miles, and then race Reading hard. Certainly don't think I'd try and race both hard.
