The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
Does anyone know how quickly the Brompton World Champs typically fill up? I'm thinking about entering but don't have a bike yet (waiting for cycle-to-work voucher).
From memory, last year when they moved to Goodwood increased the available numbers and they didn't sell out particularly quickly (if at all), so you should be ok. The smaller sprint and eliminator races did sell out fairly quickly though.
A great day out but unfortunately can't attend this year as away on holiday.
My biggest Brommieyear to date - still a small percentage of my total cycling, but not negligible. All thanks to purchasing a C Bag which is a *brilliant* bit of kit.
This was my commute home last week, I passed two Brompton riders and not soon after they passed me back and for next 3.5 miles they were easily moving a long at 25mph and at times nudged 30!
I was quite impressed. I was on a road bike / fixed gear.
Quality is not great on the video (I fitted the camera as I got rear ended twice in January). Garmin virb overlays the gpx data but it seems to get muddled up in parts.

I don't know if those guys were super fit or if it's common.
What sort of speeds do you get out of your Brompton on the flat / down hill?
It's worth pointing out (if you aren't an owner Kieren) that Bromptons are a bit like roller skates in that they feel *terrifyingly* fast at modest speeds. 20mph downhill feels like 35 on a road bike.
I have one but embarrassingly it's been in the cupboard since I moved house a couple of years ago. I cycle 21km to work on a road bike however, due to some strava stalking, the brompton riders seems to have cycled also at about 20km on their commute.
They went fast than shown in the video when I was behind them. They were much better at filtering traffic than me so my commute was educational that day,
I do remember the brompton being twitchy. I have the ML3 but kind of wish I had flat bars now. I'm hoping to to take it out for a blast on a quite stretch of road this weekend and see how fast it goes.

Regarding seat post, no idea but I would imagine a wipe down with soap or spirits might remove any grease. I have read that the titanium ones slip less than the standard polished ones but again, no first or even second hand experience
I think a wipe of the post wold be a good idea in any event. It's only just started happening and I've had the bike since 2009...
Actually it started happening within days of me fixing a mysterious squeak which, thanks to some forum or other, I tracked down to the rear triangle hinge.
I've got an M3L - wouldn't want a flat bar version as I wouldn't be able to use my C Bag, I think. The C Bag is a tremendous bit of kit.
