Hm, first puncture, and it's on the rear wheel! Have looked at the video and everything looks straight forward enough but is it something better to have done by Halfords (other bike shops are available)?

I paid a shop to do mine because there's no job too simple for me to balls up.

Sad times as I'm going to sell mine. New job means no need for it.

Should also have said it's a 6 gear job.

I have four bikes. I did 2,300 miles last year. I had two punctures. Both on the back wheel of the Brompton ~sigh~

Finally replaced the yellow-label tyre with a green-label one in the Summer. So far so good.

Brompton got a real wheel puncture under Marathon tyres. Have been avoiding fixing it 'cause it means messing about with two different gear systems  Followed Brompton's excellent videos on what to do and all went well except for refitting the chain tensioner. Guy on the video uses slight of hand and snaps the thing back on in jigtime. I'm left struggling with three dimensional geometry and covered in oil! It finally snapped back in place although I've still no idea of how it fits together. For a while, there seemed to be far too much chain involved :-)

:)

Yes, the videos seem to think that replacing the tensioner is trivially easy. First time round I wasn't sure what way up it went.

Alas, I've had lots of practice...

Am amazed at what a clean chain and a drop of clean oil does to reduce pedalling work :-)
