Yes. It's become an awfully competitive event! Julia Shaw (the winner of the ladies) is obviously *the* female cyclist of the moment in the UK (she's the 10, 25, 50 and 100 mile time trial UK champion - and holds records over most of those distances as well).
Still sulking she won the brommie and not me They should have taken the unfolding time into account as well (the mats were located so only riding time was taken into account. That would have sorted out the true brommie riders from the fakers :¬)

Agreed Rach. Brommie unfolding and folding should defo be taken in to account to rule out any imposters who aren't really Brommie riders!!

Surely an ideal Brommie race you would have to unfold it then ride then fold it back up.

Yes - all those early mornings on Paddington station trying to unfold my Brompton quicker than the day before were a waste of time!
153rd out of 545 in a time one minute faster than 2008 for me - happy with that
What was that comment Rach?:
> Definitely going to do it again next year - even if it's in Kuala Lumpa.
Well, I just saw this on a Brompton email list:
For BWC2010, Brompton are still negotiating the venue. The top contender at the moment is Japan, in which case Brompton are considering country heats, with the winners being flown to Japan for the final.

296th for me. Flying first lap of 14mins is nice to see followed by pootling and showboating around for 17mins on lap 2. Be a shame if it's not in UK next year, but I guess it's a World Champs so fair to move it about.

Japan?!?! Wow...Well, I have always wanted to go...
I was 53rd overall with lap splits of 12:19 and 13:27. That's a fair blow-up although the accident on the second lap caused me to slow quite a bit. May hire a titanium 6-speed brompton for next year and will definitely take the bits off my bike (luggage rack, lights, pump etc).
