Nice one Keefy! The Monocle is mandatory, they don't let you out the station unless you're wearing it!

Good luck at the weekend Rach - let us know how you get on :)

Another nice comment on my Brommie from two girls in the lfit this morning :):):)

I'll be at Blenheim too hoping to beat last year's 29m 23s. Hoping for good weather again as it was such a fun event last year. Now just need to sort out what to wear!

Glad you're dressing more suitably these days, GregP.

I love the lift comments too, Sarah. I think we should all be on commission from Brompton!

Dibble, What's the event like? Are there tight corners? Is it chaotic??!? I'm not sure what to wear either...!

Rach, I don't remember any particularly tight corners, but it can get a bit crowded at some points (and I think there are more entrants this year). It's reasonably hilly. Take a look at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axxZYY6O-AI
and some related ones to get a flavour of it.

They started riders in batches of 100 last time and as I was lucky enough to be in the first batch, it was probably less crowded. If it's like last year, the timing starts after you unfold the bike, so the only advanatage of unfolding quickly is probably a clearer road.

Not all the females followed the strict jacket and tie policy, but they all got into the spirit of the event by wearing something relatively dressy or formal.

Most of all it was the most fun I've had on a bike for a long time!!

In case you missed it on Twitter: Was folding Brommie to put in back of car en route to a meeting this morning. Couple walked past. Bloke remarked "that's a folding bike". Sharp people in Billericay.

Perhaps he was just offering general narration to his partner.

Quite possibly Argie, in context. "that's a chaffinch, that's a pothole", etc?
