Nope, just practice! For me on my original brommie it was all the way to the top then drop by approx 1 inch. For my new brommie it's easy... all the way to the top. But I guess you could mark it.

Looks like I'll be getting one of these soon! Liked the look of the single-speed Dahon I saw some bloke with (looks and the larger wheels) t'other day but it seem support is unanimous in favour of the Brompton. |

KB, I try to be neutral in my folding bike opinions, but I've heard *so* many horror stories about Dahons I just wouldn't even consider one. Welding not up to scratch, bits falling off, the whole bike falling apart. And a Brompton looks far cooler, anyway. |

I was in taaaan yesterday sneering at everything that had more than one gear and or wasn't a Brompton. A Dahon singlespeed technical passes my urban snob test, but suspect I'd still sneer Would my FCN be enhanced by a cravat, do we think? |

You don't have a cravat? Greppers, I'm frankly a little shocked.

SW, I assume that either Argie, Hendo or OllyW typed that for you? (That might not actually be a compliment ;)) |

Grep, any chance of seeing a picture of you on the brommy (preferably outside billerricaaie nick) to assess level of metrosexualness/londonnobness? Cravat/Pipe/Manbag is entirely optional! |

Now rethinking this. Principle reason for buying is to save the 44-a-month tube part of my commute. At 650 a pop it'll take about 15 months before a Brompton saves me anything.
