Hackett Apr 2011 9:45am, 11 Apr 2011 538 posts	Hackett Always going to be tough for me having suffered with shin splints + tight calfs have only done 7 miles in last 2 weeks ,so decided sh*t or bust + went with 8min pacer. Managed that for 12 miles then then suffered mentally. Head just wasn't interested in running. Managed to drag myself round in 4.00hrs. With numerous walk breaks at every water station.The heat was oppressive + the power station is bland + dull at 21 miles. Doesn't help but in fairness my head was shot by then... Looked at 2012 prices £47 which seems a little steep to me.

mile muncher Apr 2011 9:51am, 11 Apr 2011 1,157 posts	mile muncher Many times I wished I was on the other side of the tape. As bad as I felt, never once did it cross my mind to cheat. Cheat who anyway - yourself! I hope he/she feels ashamed this morning though I suspect not.

And when we were running towards mile 6 ish, two blokes wandering along the middle of the other side of the course shouting at one of the lead runners, 'you're going the wrong way'. Clever!
