OK - so, I can programme it to tell me what my pace is averaged out at. That would be handy as it comes up with some ridiculous pacing sometimes. I'll have a fiddle around tonight.

I like average pace myself, so you can see how you're going over the entire distance.

Doesn't work so well if you blow up and lose a shit load of time towards the end but works very well if your splits are more even.

average pace for me. Start at my comfortable pace of 9 ish, end at my struggly pace of 11, average at 10's, simples :-)

I use average pace too, that reminds me I must hide heart rate as I don't want to be distracted by it, although I will want to have a look afterwards

OK, I'll look at the average pace thingy, not used it before but it sounds like just what I need.

It often has odd paces as you turn corners becasue of the way it works out your current speed. I've always had current pace on the first screen (along with a few other things) and average on the second screen on my 305.

Also an easy way of knowing what time you're on for, assuming you know what 9:50s / 9:40s / 9:30s etc will get you.

Useful to assume an extra 0.2miles in all big city marathons, even if you think the mile markers are out, the total distance is measured and more accurate than your garmin.
