I dont get the " its expensive because we dont have a sponsor" line. The BUPA series charge £26 for a 10K and there are very big sponsors tied in. Not to mention the Royal Parks Half, Run to the Beat and their ilk. Seems like some people get a kick out of getting fleeced as they get sold out pretty quickly which I guess is why they continually get away with it. Where's the grumpy old man thread....

Steve. This year I decided to only enter Local races as much as possible. Hey presto they are cheaper.

The Penn 7 is a fantastic £10! And a dead cert PB too............ never raced 7 miles before. Also I don't need a hotel!

So there is a choice!

However the 'Red Lion 123yard stagger' at only 55p is a real bargain :-)

Ummm isn't Nottingham called the 'Robin Hood' Marathon.... so NOPE!

I'm sure I paid more than £26 for BUPA Manchester 10k and a marathon is just under 5 times further.
